Rare First Pattern Us Navy A2 deck jacket. Unlike the later pattern this first pattern has a heavier cotton sateen shell, reinforced cuff ends and pointed pocket top. The zip fastening is a nice brass Conmar. The stencil is lovely and clear to the back naming this to a member of the USS Guadalcanal.
Condition
In great vintage condition. This piece is over 55 years old.
We consider wear and repairs part of the garments story but “flaws” of note are -
Some marks to the shell. We have zig zag repaired the collar fold and cuff areas, and a little to the shoulder as shown. It’s had 2 replacement buttons and we have also replaced the reinforced cuff ends with correct fabric.
