A beautiful AL1 flight jacket. These were issued to the US Navy in the 1950s and aren’t common, I’ve only come across 3 including this one since I started! Tight weave cotton shell with great 4 pocket design, knitted cuffs in the hand warmer pockets, chunky tooth talon zip, 2 internal pockets (one zip up!), storm cuffs and stunning full alpaca pile lining! This is also the earlier pattern with the zip on the cuffs. It’s a great looking jacket that translates extremely well into a modern wardrobe. A rare opportunity to find an issued AL1 complete with its hood (almost never turn up as they were worn separately).
Condition
In great vintage condition. This piece is near 70 years old.
We consider wear and repairs part of the garments story but “flaws” of note are -
we have patch repaired the cuffs areas in correct fabric, as well as replacing the collar. Some light marks and penned on name On left shoulder. Label is sadly missing.

Size not marked but fits a modern Large / slimmer XL.
Measures approximately 26” armpit to armpit, 21.5” across the shoulders, 29.5” back of neck to base, 21” pit to cuff and 25.5” shoulder to cuff. All measurements are in inches, if you are unsure about fit and if you require further measurements please just ask.
