Rare M41 field jacket used by the army during WW2. It features a green cotton poplin shell with 1/2 belt detailing, action back and waist adjustment and finished with a wool lining. The zip fastening is a nice original brass Conmar. Classic pieces that’s been referenced in many a film. This is the first example I’ve ever had where the label is still present! Also named to ‘Markell’.
Condition
In great vintage condition. This piece is over 75 years old.
We consider wear and repairs part of the garments story but “flaws” of note are -
Some light marks as expected, label is loose but present, collar has had a period repair and sadly a leather chest patch is missing and left a mark. The sleeves look to have been folded up for some time and the shell has frayed along the edges. These are usually completely shot, despite a it’s problems listed it’s probably the best condition one I’ve handled!
